BOKURA is a unique puzzle adventure game designed exclusively for two players. Unlike traditional games, BOKURA requires each player to use their own separate machines. Though you will be working together, your game experiences will differ significantly, with each player seeing a distinct version of the game world.
Gameplay BOKURA is a side-scrolling co-op puzzle adventure. As you progress through the game, you will encounter various critical choices that shape your journey in different directions. The game features puzzles and challenges that require communication and cooperation between the two players.
A standout feature of BOKURA is that it cannot be played solo or with a computer-controlled second player. It demands two human players, making your very first decision who to partner with for this adventure. The total gameplay duration is approximately three to four hours, during which you and your partner must collaborate to understand the story, solve puzzles, and make key decisions together.
Story The narrative begins when two boys, running away from home, stumble upon a dead deer. The sight overwhelms them, causing them to faint. When they awaken, they find themselves in two radically different worlds: one boy sees a realm of animals, while the other views a world of machines. Your task is to help them uncover the mystery of their altered perceptions and find their way back to their original world.
Creator Profile Created by tokoronyori, an indie game developer known for his original and enigmatic style, BOKURA continues the tradition of innovative gameplay seen in his 2016 hit, Hitoribocchi Wakusei (Lonely Planet). As part of Kodansha’s Game Creators’ Lab’s first round, tokoronyori developed BOKURA to offer a unique experience driven by his signature game mechanics.
Creator Comment “Have you ever questioned whether your perception of the world matches everyone else’s? BOKURA explores this idea through the story of two boys whose realities diverge. I hope you and your partner can bridge these differences and experience the essence of childhood friendship through the game.”
