Batman: Arkham Origins takes players back to Christmas Eve, a few years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum. At this early stage in Batman’s career as a superhero, he faces a major threat from the villainous Black Mask, who has placed a bounty on Batman’s head. As Batman battles to stop Black Mask, he must also uncover why the criminal underworld is so determined to see him dead.
Plot The story unfolds during winter in Gotham City, with the setting expanded to include both Old and New Gotham. The game kicks off with Batman intervening in a jailbreak at Blackgate Prison led by Black Mask. Following the jailbreak, Batman learns of a reward for his head and begins a quest to track down Black Mask by contacting the Penguin.
The game features a deep exploration of Batman’s relationships with other characters, including new villains such as Deathstroke, Firefly, and Shiva. Developed using Unreal Engine 3, the game boasts high-quality audio and graphics, enhancing the immersive experience.
Gameplay Batman: Arkham Origins is played from a third-person perspective, with dynamic action mechanics similar to those in Batman: Arkham City. However, as a younger and less experienced Batman, his combat skills are not as refined. Players will witness Batman honing his abilities and engaging in various stealth elements and side quests, such as crime scene investigations and sabotage missions. The game also features randomly generated events, adding to its replayability.
Game Modes The game offers both single-player and multiplayer modes. The new multiplayer mode, Invisible Predator Online, introduces a unique twist to the series. Players can join one of three factions: Joker’s gang, Bane’s gang, or a team of Batman and Robin. The objective is to eliminate members of the opposing teams in a gang war scenario set in Blackgate Prison.
