Story:

Set approximately a century after the events of Throne of Bhaal, the game plunges players into a world under siege by terrifying Mind Flayers. These malevolent beings have invaded Baldur’s Gate and infected its citizens, including your character and their companions, with a parasitic illness that threatens to transform them into Mind Flayers. Unlike others, however, your protagonist and their allies gain extraordinary powers from the parasite. Your quest is to uncover the truth about the parasite, find a cure, and reveal a larger conspiracy that threatens the realm. Player choices will shape the narrative and lead to multiple endings, ensuring a unique experience each playthrough.

Character Creation and Team Building:

Begin your journey by crafting your character with a robust creator tool. Choose from diverse races such as humans, elves, halflings, tieflings, githyanki, drow, and even vampire spawns. Each race comes with its own set of abilities, backstory, and dialogue options, influencing gameplay and interactions. Select from six classes—Fighter, Wizard, Rogue, Ranger, Warlock, and Cleric—each with unique archetypes that further tailor your playstyle and abilities. Your race and class choices will affect your adventure and relationships with other characters.

Gameplay Mechanics:

Baldur’s Gate III adopts the fifth edition rules of Dungeons & Dragons, adapted for a video game.
